The CTO perspective – Episode 13: It’s the Experience, Stupid !

In the great environment of Chantilly I had the opportunity to chat with Christopher Andersen. A great guy from Norway who is focussing on delivering User Experiences.

Not only within the IT domain, but taking the full perspective on how from a product perspective, service perspective and software perspective, Customers can be delighted in a world where distraction is all around.

If you want to have more interaction with Christopher, check him out on linkedIn or follow him on twitter @christopherea

Finally, the show will also reveal the meaning of Logo Based Architecture. I introduced this in one of my tweets and got some request for the meaning. Please have a look and give me your feedback and thoughts on this concept.

Hope you will enjoy the show. If you have questions, suggestions; please let me know on twitter @fwammes or mail fwammes@gmail.com.

The CTO perspective: Episode 11 The Digital Workplace

I had the privilege of having Donald Hessing on the Podcast. Donald is a thoughtleader on the Digital Workplace, with a focus on the Microsoft solutions. As it happens, Microsoft hosted their annual event in Orlando, and Donald just returned from the trip when we recorded this Podcast.

The Podcast will give you insights in the latest developments around The Digital Workplace as envisioned on the roadmap from Microsoft, but we also took the discussion a but further down the line and discussed how technologies like AI and Augmented Reality will impact the future of work

Episode 10: CyberSecurity

Yes… Back again. After enthusiastic reactions on the blog, but comments on the audio quality, I decided to invest in better equipment to deliver the quality you deserve !

And starting with a very hot and urgent topic: CyberSecurity. Matthijs Ros (@matthijsros) sheds his light on this topic. Interesting part is that the discussion was not so much about the technology, but more on how business can and should assess themselves. The different units in the business (from HR to Legal to Marketing) but also the role within the supply chain that determines your risk profile.

It gave me new insights on how to deal with this topic from a business perspective and trust you will have some new insights as well. If you want more information from Matthijs, don’t hesitate to reach out to him on Twitter or LinkedIn.

If you have suggestions or request for topics for next episodes, please don’t hesitate and reach our to me on fwammes@me.com or @fwammes.

Episode 9: From Workflow to Philosophy; it has been an interesting week

This week’s podcast is a reflection on some of the Tech news this week. Although not a lot of big announcements, there were some interesting topics that on the short and mid term will impact our lives.

Topics of this week are:

  1. Apple acquiring Workflow; what will this mean for automation in the enterprise
  2. Robots being fried in Fukushima
  3. Google beating the Doctor with AI
  4. Heathrow scanning your face, but what could it mean for the future
  5. Wearables turned into Fashion with Hugo Bosch and Tommy Hilfiger
  6. SAP stimulating entrepreneurship with SAP.IO
  7. Vint Cerf on thinking critical; humans taking ownership

As always, I will give my personal perspectives on this, which this time range from organisational, individual and societal advice. A bit too ambitious perhaps, but you need to start somewhere.

Hope you will enjoy the show. If you have questions, suggestions; please let me know on twitter @fwammes or mail fwammes@me.com.

The CTO Perspective – Incubate or Participate… That’s the question !

This week’s podcast is all about collaboration with start-ups. What is the purpose, in which form can and should you participate. What are the benefits and what are the pitfalls.

To help me explore that question, I invited Vincent Fokke for this episode. Vincent is focussing on Innovation within the Financial industry. An industry that through it’s nature is ready for disruption and the so-called Fintech’s are a good example on how start-ups are making way in the industry.

How do financial institutions deal with this and what is the best way to collaborate. That is the topic of this discussion for this podcast, in which Vincent will provide you some different perspectives and examples.

Interesting thing in this discussion is that it not only applies to Finance, in every industry these discussion will take place and will be company specific.

You can connect with Vincent at https://www.linkedin.com/in/vincentfokke/

From Infra to Legislation; how Technology is Disrupting Mobility

This week’s podcast is all about mobility. From self driving cars to platoon trucking. Future outlook or today’s reality. With current economic growth and pressure on climate, a topic which is all near to our heart.

I have the pleasure to host the podcast with Marije de Vreeze, program manager ITS at Connekt, an organisation that brings all parties involved in mobility together, to get the innovations to real implementations.

How to do that, experiment, mobilise the entire eco-system and by following the money. Curious, then enjoy the show and listen to the great insights from Marije. You can follow her on @ConnektMarije

You can also join Connekt in their latest challenge: http://www.connekt.nl/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Flyer_Dutch-Mobility-for-Society-Challenge.pdf
